  2. Open a browser and type http://router.synology.com in the address bar (not the search box).
  3. Enter the login: The admin account you create during setup.
  4. Change the Wi-Fi name and password, update the firmware or check connected devices.

  • router.synology.com only works on the device’s own network. It is a local address, not a public website, so it will not load over mobile data or another Wi-Fi.
  • Use the IP address instead: 192.168.1.1. It works even when the name does not.

  • Clear the browser cache or try a private window. Browsers sometimes remember a failed lookup.
