How to log in to fritz.box

  1. Connect your phone or computer to the AVM FRITZ!Box routers by Wi-Fi or a network cable. On a phone, turn off mobile data.
  2. Open a browser and type http://fritz.box in the address bar (not the search box).
  3. Enter the login: FRITZ!Box password printed on the label.
  4. Change the Wi-Fi name and password, update the firmware or check connected devices.

fritz.box not working?

  • fritz.box only works on the device’s own network. It is a local address, not a public website, so it will not load over mobile data or another Wi-Fi.
  • Use the IP address instead: 192.168.178.1. It works even when the name does not.
  • Type http://, not https://, and turn off VPN, Private DNS or Private Relay. They can stop local names from working.
  • Clear the browser cache or try a private window. Browsers sometimes remember a failed lookup.
  • If the name fails, type 192.168.178.1. For access from outside your home, AVM uses MyFRITZ!.
  • Still stuck? Reset the device to restore the default address and password.
