Most D-Link DIR routers use 192.168.0.1 with the username admin and an empty password field. DSL modem-routers (DSL-xxxx) usually sit on 192.168.1.1 instead.
How to log in to a D-Link router
- Connect to the D-Link Wi-Fi network or plug in a LAN cable.
- Open a browser and go to dlinkrouter.local or 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
- Enter the username and password from the table below or from the router label.
- Use the menu to change Wi-Fi settings, see connected devices or update firmware.

D-Link default username and password
| Router / ISP | Login address | Username | Password |
|---|---|---|---|
| DIR series | 192.168.0.1 | admin | (blank) |
| DSL modem-routers | 192.168.1.1 | admin | admin |
| EAGLE PRO AI / newer DIR-X | dlinkrouter.local | admin | Printed on the label |
If the default login is rejected, the password was changed. The only way back in without it is a factory reset.

How to reset a D-Link router
Hold the Reset button for 10 seconds with the router powered on. The router restarts with the factory Wi-Fi name, password and admin login from the label. You will need to set up your internet connection again, so keep your ISP username and password handy.

192.168.0.1 not opening? Fixes that work
- Connect to the router first. Use its Wi-Fi or a LAN cable — mobile data will never reach 192.168.0.1.
- Type it in the address bar, not the search box, and include
http://—http://192.168.0.1. Many routers have no HTTPS page. - Check for typos: only numbers and dots. The letter “l” or “o” in place of 1 or 0 will not work.
- Your router may use a different address. Check the default gateway (see above) or the label.
- Turn off VPN, proxy or “Private Relay”. They send traffic outside your home network.
- Try another browser or a private window, and clear the cache.
- Restart the router: unplug it for 30 seconds, then wait two minutes after plugging it back in.
- Still stuck? A factory reset restores the default address and password.
