How to log in to homerouter.cpe

Connect your phone or computer to the Huawei 4G / 5G home routers (B311, B535, B618 and others) by Wi-Fi or a network cable. On a phone, turn off mobile data.
Open a browser and type http://homerouter.cpe in the address bar (not the search box).
Enter the login: admin / admin (then set a new one).
Change the Wi-Fi name and password, update the firmware or check connected devices.

homerouter.cpe only works on the device’s own network. It is a local address, not a public website, so it will not load over mobile data or another Wi-Fi.
Use the IP address instead: 192.168.8.1. It works even when the name does not.
Type http://, not https://, and turn off VPN, Private DNS or Private Relay. They can stop local names from working.
Clear the browser cache or try a private window. Browsers sometimes remember a failed lookup.
If the name fails, type 192.168.8.1.
Still stuck? Reset the device to restore the default address and password.
