192.168.2.1 not opening? Fixes that work
- Connect to the router first. Use its Wi-Fi or a LAN cable — mobile data will never reach 192.168.2.1.
- Type it in the address bar, not the search box, and include
http://—http://192.168.2.1. Many routers have no HTTPS page. - Check for typos: only numbers and dots. The letter “l” or “o” in place of 1 or 0 will not work.
- Your router may use a different address. Check the default gateway (see above) or the label.
- Turn off VPN, proxy or “Private Relay”. They send traffic outside your home network.
- Try another browser or a private window, and clear the cache.
- Restart the router: unplug it for 30 seconds, then wait two minutes after plugging it back in.
- Still stuck? A factory reset restores the default address and password.
